SPOTLIGHT: The middle school choir at SFH partner school IS 10 Queens speaks English. The Andrea Bocelli Foundation’s “Voices of Haiti” Choir speaks Haitian Creole. All came together through the universal language of creativity to sing a powerful message: “Dona Nobis Pacem.” Grant us peace.

Young Artists From Queens And Haiti SING FOR HOPE

On Tuesday, December 11th, Sing for Hope united young artists from Queens and Haiti for an afternoon of performance, collaboration, and community-building through the universal language of the arts. The Andrea Bocelli Foundation’s “Voices of Haiti” Choir, which performed with Mr. Bocelli at Madison Square Garden the following night, exchanged performances and stories with the middle school choir at IS 10 Horace Greeley, one of 180 Sing for Hope partner schools.

Johnson has been elected Chair of the Board by unanimous board vote. “Linda’s passion for equal access to creative resources for all people is a hallmark of her work on the Sing for Hope board as well as her transformational leadership of Brooklyn Public Library. As Sing for Hope continues to drive new solutions for social cohesion through the arts, from the Sing for Hope Pianos that enliven our cityscape to our youth arts and healing arts programs in under-resourced areas, there is no one more equipped than Linda to help guide our next chapter,” say Sing for Hope Co-Founders and Co-Executive Directors Camille Zamora and Monica Yunus.
