The Sing for Hope Pianos places artist-designed pianos throughout NYC’s parks and public spaces for anyone and everyone to play. Each summer, the pianos bring individuals and communities together in an open festival of art for all. After their time on the streets, Sing for Hope transports the instruments to NYC public schools, where they become hubs for Sing for Hope’s ongoing creative programs and enrich students’ lives for years to come.

Our Healing Arts programming brings the healing power of the arts directly into healthcare settings throughout the city each week at hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, and treatment centers. Designed in tandem with the facilities’ music and recreational therapists, our Healing Arts Programs aid healthcare staff in achieving their patients’ prescriptive therapeutic goals by creating an uplifting environment focused on reducing pain, enhancing healing environments, helping patients express emotions and need, and supporting caregiver wellness.

Sing for Hope Global is a three-tiered initiative bringing creative arts programs to refugee sites and mass transit hubs worldwide, while driving the international movement for increased inclusion of the arts in global convenings on social change.

Sing for Hope harnesses the power of the arts to create a better world. Our creative programs bring hope, healing, and connection to millions of people in hospitals, care facilities, schools, refugee camps, transit hubs, and community spaces worldwide. Founded in New York City in 2006, Sing for Hope partners with hundreds of community-based organizations, mobilizes thousands of artists in creative service, and produces artist-created Sing for Hope Pianos across the US and around the world. The official Cultural Partner of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, Sing for Hope champions art for all because we believe the arts have an unmatched capacity to uplift, unite, and heal.

Sing for Hope uplifts lives by unleashing creativity virtually and in-person for under-resourced schools, healthcare facilities, refugee camps, transit hubs, and public spaces. Our work ranges from arts workshops that improve academics for at-risk students, to specialized music programs that enhance cognition for dementia patients, to arts interventions that facilitate integration for refugee youth, to the Sing for Hope Pianos that unite communities in our world’s public spaces.

SFH is an “artists’ peace corps” that reaches millions of people annually in our home-base of NYC and around the globe. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and in partnership with hundreds of community-based organizations and thousands of artist partners, SFH uses the creative arts for healing, learning, and social cohesion.
